(HealthDay News) -- When you're ready to hit the hiking trails, be sure to pack a few essentials.
The Letsmove.gov website suggests what to bring:
- A backpack.
- A supply of water.
- A stash of healthy snacks, such as apples, nuts, unsweetened dried fruits, whole grain pretzels or crackers, or some baby carrots.
- Protective gear, such as hats, sunglasses and sunscreen.
- A few extra layers of clothing, and a rain coat.
