Health Tip: Pack Essentials for Outdoor Exercise

(HealthDay News) -- When you're ready to hit the hiking trails, be sure to pack a few essentials.


The Letsmove.gov website suggests what to bring:



  • A backpack.

  • A supply of water.

  • A stash of healthy snacks, such as apples, nuts, unsweetened dried fruits, whole grain pretzels or crackers, or some baby carrots.

  • Protective gear, such as hats, sunglasses and sunscreen.

  • A few extra layers of clothing, and a rain coat.
