Health Tip: Tight Shoes May Be Damaging Your Feet

By Diana Kohnle, HealthDay Reporter

(HealthDay News) -- Shoes that are too snug can cause some serious and painful problems, including bunions and corns.

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons says other potential problems from tight shoes include:

  • Toes that cross over from lack of room.

  • A curling hammertoe.

  • An ingrown toenail that's been pushed into the skin.

  • Blisters or sores, which can be especially dangerous among people with diabetes.
