Health Tip: Get Weight-Bearing Exercise

(HealthDay News) -- There's a recipe for good bone health, and it includes getting plenty of calcium, vitamin D and weight-bearing exercise.


The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says good weight-bearing activities include:



  • Climbing stairs, walking, running or jogging.

  • Hiking or jumping rope.

  • Playing sports, such as tennis, racquetball, field hockey, basketball or soccer.

  • Lifting weights.

  • Dancing.
